Deborah Padfield, UCLH artist in residence and PhD student at the UCL Slade School, recently won first prize in an art competition with an image produced for the face2face project.  The competition was held in conjunction with the Annual Scientific Meeting of the British Pain Society this April.

UCL Eastman Dental Institute has teamed up with the Dental Defence Union to hold a thought-provoking conference in London on Friday 28th September 2012.

The British Dental Conference & Exhibition 2012 took place in Manchester between 26-28 April and saw 5,085 people pass through its doors; almost 500 more than attended the 2011 event at the same venue. UCL Eastman Dental Institute staff were on hand at the exhibition and lead a number of practical, hands-on sessions in the Demonstration Theatre.

Deadlines to enrol are fast approaching for our diploma and certificate courses that commence September 2012 – and with places available on a first come, first served basis, dental professionals are advised to apply now to avoid disappointment.

Research undertaken by Michael Wilson, Professor of Microbiology in the Institute's department of Microbial Diseases, is featured in the cover story of April's Chemistry World magazine.

Dr Lena Ciric, a postdoctoral research fellow working in the Institute’s department of Microbial Diseases, has been selected as one of 40 scientists to take part in a science dialogue event with school and college students that begins next week.

Congratulations to PhD student Prasad Sawadkar and research associate Dr Kris Gellynck on each winning a prize in this year’s UCL Graduate School Research Poster Competition.

UCL Eastman Dental Institute has joined up with Great Ormond Street Hospital and University College Hospital to work on an exciting new project that has just launched at the Science Museum.  And we need your help.

Congratulations to Dr Ramine Khan, Dr Abeer Al-Namankany and Dr Gail Martin, who have each recently sucessfully defended their PhD theses at UCL Eastman Dental Institute.

UCL Eastman Dental Institute is proud to announce the launch of a new taught masters programme.

The MSc in Medical Bacteriology (by distance learning) has been approved by UCL, with the first cohort of students beginning September 2012.
