ORE Part 2: Medical Emergencies

A revision course that can be taken over either one full day or two evenings, specifically tailored for the Medical Emergencies component of ORE Part 2.

What will I learn?

The course is specifically tailored for the ORE examination and will enable candidates to combine theory with practice. It is run by AtoE Emergencies who are specialists in the field and currently provide medical emergencies training for all of the Eastman Dental Hospital staff.

Why should I study this course at the Institute?

The course is part of the Institute's range of ORE revision courses and due to its small class sizes provides training tailored to participants.

Availability: One full day.

Verifiable CPD: 6.5 hours.

Core content

After a short lecture, the day concentrates on practical work encompassing:

  • Airway, BLS & AED, equipment & drugs skills
  • Assessment of the sick patient
  • Paediatric basic life support overview
  • Scenario training
  • ORE mocks

You will be given a copy of the AtoE Training Manual to take home, so you can focus on the teaching rather than writing reams of notes.

The course is delivered via demonstrations and student practice, covering all areas of the ORE Part 2 Medical Emergencies syllabus.
