Medical Statistics At A Glance Workbook
11 April 2013
UCL Eastman Dental Institute's Head of Biostatistics, Aviva Petrie, together with Caroline Sabin from UCL Research Department Of Infection And Population Health, has recently published a new workbook aimed at students, researchers, junior doctors and anyone working in in the biomedical and pharmaceutical disciplines who wants to feel more confident in basic medical statistics.
Medical Statistics at a Glance Workbook is a resource to test statistical knowledge and improve analytical and interpretational skills. As a useful revision aid, it includes MCQs and structured questions, all with model answers. Templates for the appraisal of clinical trials and observational studies are provided, together with full appraisals of two published papers to illustrate the use of the templates in practice. Detailed step-by-step analyses of two substantial datasets demonstrate the application of statistical procedures to real-life research.
The workbook is designed to support the third edition of Petrie & Sabin's Medical Statistics at a Glance, to which it is fully cross referenced.
