Artist Awarded For Work With Patients
6 February 2013
An artist with close connections to the Institute has been named Public Engager of the Year (Student) at the UCL Provost's Awards for Public Engagement on Wednesday.
Deborah Padfield, UCLH artist in residence at Eastman Dental Hospital and PhD student at the Slade School of Fine Art, won the award for her work involving patients who experience facial pain. She was represented at the awards ceremony by her PhD supervisors Sharon Morris (Senior Lecturer, Slade) and Professor Joanna Zakrzewska (Consultant, Eastman Dental Hospital, and Honorary Professor, UCL Eastman Dental Institute.)
Last year we featured an article that discusses Deborah and Professor Zakrzewska's collaboration - find out more about the award-winning face2face project
