Medical Approach to Rhinosinusitis -

In this brand new one day course we will focus on how to diagnose and treat diseases of the nose and sinuses. The aim is to teach the mechanisms of upper airway disease and how sinonasal function becomes  compromised as a result. The medical approach with treatment and how this compliments a surgical care pathway is emphasised. Clinical anatomy and function, immunology in relation to understanding disease mechanisms and novel treatment approaches such as immunotherapy will be covered topics. Specific topics such as upper airway aspects of immunodeficiency, immune dysregulation and vasculitis will also be covered through lectures and discussion.

Learning outcomes 

  • Reaching a specific diagnosis. 
  • How to select appropriate treatment. 
  • Establishing when surgery is needed.

  • Allergy
  • Rhinitis
  • Sinusitis
  • Vasculitis
