I am interested in the neurodevelopment of children with hearing loss, in particular, children with auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder, and also children with other disorders such as congenital hypothyroidism which may make them more prone to hearing and communication problems. I also investigate how we can use assistive technologies to improve outcomes for children with hearing loss.

I completed an MSc in Audiology at the University of Southampton in 2006, the Certificate of Audiological Competence in 2008, and became a state registered Clinical Scientist in 2009. I was awarded an NIHR/CSO Healthcare Science Doctoral Research Fellowship in 2013 to undertake a PhD at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health which I completed in 2017. I am now a lecturer in audiology at the UCL Ear Institute and continue to work part time as an audiologist at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
