Virtual Dutch logo (large)

Virtual Dutch, a collaboration of four British universities that teach Dutch, aims to reward academic excellence among new students of its distance-learning programmes in Dutch Cultural Studies:

  • Five scholarships are available for new students starting the Postgraduate Diploma in Dutch Cultural Studies in September 2010. The scholarships cover up to £1,000 towards a student’s tuition fees.
  • Two scholarships are available for new students starting the Postgraduate Certificate in Dutch Cultural Studies in September 2010. The scholarships cover up to £500 towards a student’s tuition fees.

Candidates must have been formally admitted to the relevant programme (Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma in Dutch Cultural Studies) before they can be considered for a scholarship.

Deadline

To be considered for a scholarship, you must be in receipt of a letter from the UCL Registry offering you a place on the programme, and you must have informed the UCL Registry, in writing, of your acceptance of the offer by 1 July 2010.

Selection Criteria

Scholarships are awarded exclusively on the basis of academic excellence, achievement and potential. Financial circumstances of the candidates are not taken into account.

Procedure

There is no formal application procedure. All prospective students who have been offered and have formally accepted a place on the programme by 1 July 2010 will be considered for a scholarship. Decisions about awards will be made by a selection committee consisting of academic staff from the UCL Department of Dutch.

Notification of Results

Results will be announced to successful candidates by 15 July 2010
