Anglo-Netherlands Society Annual Awards for students of Dutch

The Anglo-Netherlands Society has created these awards to recognize and reward outstanding work in the field of Dutch Studies at UK universities. The Society promotes the social, artistic, literary, educational, scientific and other non-political interests common to the UK and the Netherlands.
The annual award will go to an essay on any agreed topic of Anglo-Netherlands affairs and relations, judged to be the best submission. Topics include the culture, language, literature, history and society of the Netherlands studied in relation to English culture, language or literature, or to UK history and society.
The essay should be no longer than 4000 words. Final-year students and taught Masters students are eligible to enter. The winning essayist will receive a generous cash prize together with documentation. There will be an annual Awards Ceremony at which students will be presented with their award and their achievements celebrated.
We encourage students to enter for this prestigious new prize
Entries are now welcome. Entrants may consult Prof Jane Fenoulhet about their topic if they wish. The range is broad, and the topic should have an intercultural English-Dutch dimension. Hand in two paper copies of your essay and an electronic version to Prof Fenoulhet by 23 March 2012.
The essay will be submitted to a panel of judges convened by the Anglo-Netherlands Society and the award will be made in early June in the presence of the Netherlands ambassador.
