ISI Web of Knowledge Impact Factor for Dutch Crossing

29 June 2012

Dutch Crossing : Journal of Low Countries Studies

We are delighted to announce that Dutch Crossing has received its first Impact Factor in ISI’s Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI). The results have just been released.

The SSCI, part of Thomson-Reuters' Web of Science, is highly selective and generally regarded to be the most prestigious academic citation index. The impact factor is a measure reflecting the average number of citations to recent articles published in science and social science journals. It is frequently used as a proxy for the relative importance of a journal within its field.

Bibliometrical methods are widely anticipated to play an increasing role in the assessment of Humanities research in the future.
