INSTG050 Publishing Process

This module aims to provide students with a detailed understanding of the functional, human resource and operational structures of publishing companies and the ancillary organizations that support the industry. This course will enable students to review the knowledge they have gained in previous courses and to integrate this into an effective working model of the publishing process. This is designed to help students make informed choices about their preferred sector of specialization while retaining an integrated perspective on the industry as a whole.

By the end of this module students will have gained detailed knowledge of at least one major sector (e.g. trade, STM, educational publishing); practised and honed their research skills; enhanced their communication skills and be able to present confidently before peers and senior industry figures.
