Dr. Daniel Boswell

I joined University College London's Department of Information Studies as a Teaching Fellow in September 2015 to work as part of the MA Publishing team within the UCL Centre for Publishing. Prior to my appointment at UCL, I was a Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University within the department of English and Media, where I was Acting Course Leader on the Publishing postgraduate programme and delivered modules in History of the Book on the English undergraduate programme.

I teach on the Publishing MA on the following modules: Publishing Contexts (Term One), Business Management in Book Publishing, (Term One), Publishing Design (Term Two) and Illustration and Publishing (Term Two). My main research interest centres around small nation cultural production with a focus on issues surrounding minority languages and translation, and also the cumulative and differentiating aspects of globalisation and identity. Digital development is another concern, as is entrepreneurship. In my present role I also concentrate on pedagogical research around the developing field of publishing studies as an academic discipline and subject group.

I am currently Programme Director of MA Publishing, Departmental Tutor and also a Departmental e-learning champion. I am very interested in enhancing access to the publishing industry, and am pursuing ways of providing publishing education to a wider catchment.
