Brian Schroer, San Francisco, Digital Anthropologist, AKQA

I graduated from the Digital Anthropology MSc program in 2011. After graduating, I moved back to San Francisco and found employment as a Digital Anthropologist at the advertising agency AKQA. At AKQA, I bridge the gap between academic and corporate research by applying anthropological theory to understand consumer motivations and behaviors.

My education in the Digital Anthropology program has greatly inspired my professional research, allowing me to develop creative and rich insights that are slightly different from the usual consumer research. The anthropological viewpoint I was endowed with allows me to look at research from a much broader angle, which in turn leads to more interesting ways of looking at consumer behavior.
