Lords reform: what next?

On Tuesday 10 July, the government was forced to withdraw its programme motion on the Lords Reform Bill, and suffered a rebellion of 91 Conservative MPs on Second Reading of the bill. This was the largest rebellion of the coalition to date.

Residency for Sudanese Poet at the Petrie Museum

The Sudanese poet Al-Saddiq Al-Raddi will begin a residency at the Petrie Museum for Egyptian Archaeology at UCL, thanks to a partnership with the Poetry Translation Centre (PTC) and funding from Arts Council England.

Director-Designate of the UCL European Institute sought

The Office of the UCL Vice-Provost (Research) invites applications from UCL academic staff for the post of Director of the UCL European Institute, to succeed Professor Richard Bellamy. The appointee will shadow Professor Bellamy in 2012/13 and take over in August 2013 for a three-year period.
