Teaching Programme

The teaching programme spans the three years of the Doctorate. It is built on the course’s guiding principles and course modules are designed to reflect these:

  • To train ‘thinking psychologists’
  • Practice that is closely informed by the evidence base
  • The close integration of theory and practice
  • Emphasis on appraisal skills and critical reflection


Dates of Academic Teaching for 2012-13

  • Autumn Term 2012: Wednesday 26th September 2012 - Tuesday 18th December 2012 (for Years 2 and 3 term ends Friday 14th December)
  • Spring Term 2013: Monday 7th January 2013 - Friday 22nd March 2013
  • Summer Term 2013: Monday 30th April 2013 - Friday 28th June 2013

The course is currently developing its on-line library of resources to support trainees' learning on the course. Documents relating to individual course units and to broader national clinical practice guidelines can be accessed through Moodle.
