Dr. Anna Jones
In October 2013, I began working as a post-doctoral research assistant at DCAL on a longitudinal study investigating executive function and language development in deaf children, alongside Gary Morgan, Chloe Marshall and Nicola Botting. This project involves testing deaf and hearing children on a large battery of non-verbal measures of executive function and the development of narrative and vocabulary measures suitable for both signing and oral deaf children (for more detail, see the project webpage here).
Prior to this, I completed my PhD (2010-2013) examining social cognition and emotion processing in deaf children, alongside working as a graduate teaching assistant at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. Other research interests include cognitive and emotional development, emotion regulation, and developmental psychopathology.
