The Economics of End of Life Care: Estimating the cost of care, developing a model of demand and understanding the provision of informal care supply.
In this thesis, I consider three related questions. The first is how much does providing care to people nearing the end of their lives cost society (including health, social and informal care). The second is to the development of a theory of demand for care at the end of life and to explore whether this differs from existing theories of demand for health care. Finally, I aim to investigate what factors people consider when choosing to provide informal care.
