Kostas Kononovas is a research associate from UCLPartners who works for the NHS London 2012 Olympics Evaluation Project which aims to describe and evaluate the planning and delivery of NHS London’s 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Programme. Prior to joining the Department of Applied Health Research in November 2011 he was a Junior Fellow at the United Nations in Tokyo where his responsibilities ranged from research design to event organisation. He has also worked in environmental organisations in Japan and Spain, the later one being funded by the EU grant. Before starting his MSc in Social and Cultural Psychology at the London School of Economics, he worked as an assistant in the immigration charity in Manchester.
Kostas has experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods application inside public sector organisations. He is interested in applied research involving the practical application of methods. His research interests range from the mass gatherings medicine, influence of exercise on health as well as influence of the Olympic Games on the host city’s population health.
