Extending your Tier 4 visa from inside the UK

Continuing Students who need to extend their visa in the UK in order to complete their current course should first read the information available on the International Student Immigration and Visa webpage before completing the form below.

Please ensure you have ATAS clearance if this is applicable to your course. Further information can be found on the International Students ATAS webpage.

The form must be approved by the Supervisor/Course tutor/Personal tutor before returning it to the Student Centre, Registry and Academic services. Forms that are approved by administrative staff will NOT be processed. Once the form has been processed an email will be sent to your UCL email account within 5 working days containing your CAS number, alongside details of the information used to obtain the CAS.

TIER 4 DOCTORATE EXTENSION SCHEME

From 6 April 2013, students completing a PhD or other doctorate level qualification at UCL will be able to apply to stay in the UK on a Tier 4 visa for 12 months after completing the qualification. This scheme is designed to allow full-time Tier 4 research students a longer period to gain practical work experience in their field.
