The M.J. Youhotsky Memorial Prize

Founded in memory of Michael John Youhotsky, a gifted Russian interpretor who believed in the value of international contacts through the knowledge of languages.

  1. A prize known as the M.J. Youhotsky Prize may be awarded in each session.

  2. The prize is awarded on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Slavonic and East European Studies Russian Department.

  3. The prize is awarded for best overall performance of a 1st year undergraduate student of Russian Studies.

  4. The value of the prize is £120.

  5. No application is necessary.

  6. The qualifications of candidates are considered by the Head of the Department of East European Languages and Culture, and the Head of the Russian Department.

  7. The Award shall be announced annually.

  8. The College reserves the right to vary these regulations should it become necessary to do so in order to ensure the continued use of the resources of the fund.

  9. Awards are subject to the provision of the General Regulations.
