Chick, Constantine and Atchison Prize in Obstetrics and Gynaecology & Evans and Swann Prize in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

The Dorothy Chick Prize in Obstetrics was founded at the UCL Medical School in 1920 by Mr Samuel Chick, and was combined in 1979 with the Evans Prize in Obstetrics, also founded at the UCL Medical School. The Mary Constantine Prize was founded at the UCL Medical School in 1956 by Sir George Constantine in memory of his sister. The Mary Swann Prize was founded at the UCL Medical School in 1926 by Mrs Edith M. Swann in memory of her daughter. The Atchison Prizes were founded at UCL Medical School in 1878 under a bequest made by Mr Thomas Atchison. Awarded jointly from 2003 following the merger of the UCL Medical School with the University College and Middlesex School of Medicine.

1. One prize may be awarded each session.
   
   
2. The Prize is awarded by the Council on the recommendation of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences.
   
   
3. The award is made to the student who shows the greatest proficiency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the M.B., B.S. examinations in the third Women's Health and Communicable Diseases Module.
   
   
4. No application is necessary.
   
   
5. The value of the Prize is £150. The award is accompanied by a certificate.
   
   
6. The award is announced in August.
   
   
7. Awards are subject to the provisions of the General Regulations.
