Costas Goutis Prize

Founded in 1996 by the Department of Statistical Science

1. A prize known as the Costas Goutis Prize may be awarded in each session.
   
   
2. The Prize is awarded by the Department of Statistical Science.
   
   
3. The Prize is awarded in memory of Costas Goutis to a research student in the Department. It will be awarded competitively, based on the written report and oral presentations made by eligible students in connection with their transfer of registration from MPhil to PhD. The criterion for eligibility is that such a transfer be under consideration during, or immediately after, the session in question.
   
   
4. The value of the Prize is £100.
   
   
5. No application is necessary.
   
   
6. The qualifications of candidates are considered by the Research Committee of the Department of Statistical Science.
   
   
7. The award is announced following the October meeting of the Departmental Research Committee.
   
   
8. The Department reserves the right to vary these regulations should it become necessary to do so.
   
   
9. Awards are subject to the provisions of the General Regulations.
