Mark Gretton Prize in Greek

Founded in 1989 from a Memorial Fund in memory of Mark Gretton, Lecturer and Departmental Tutor in the Department of Greek and Latin 1965-1984 and Research Fellow 1984-1985

  1. The Mark Gretton Prize may be awarded in each session.

  2. The Prize is awarded by the Council on the recommendation of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.

  3. The Prize is awarded for the best overall performance in Beginners Greek.

  4. Candidates must be students of the College but may be from other Departments.

  5. The value of the Prize is £30.

  6. No application is necessary.

  7. The qualifications of candidates are considered by the Head of the Department of Greek.

  8. The award is announced in July.

  9. Awards are subject to the provisions of the General Regulations.
