Francis Perch Bedford Prize

Founded in 1958 under the will of Mrs Wilhelmina Bedford in memory of her son, Francis Perch Bedford

  1. The Francis Perch Bedford Prize may be awarded in each session.
  2. The Prize is awarded by the Council on the recommendation of the Faculty of Life Sciences.
  3. The Prize is awarded to an undergraduate student of the College whose main field of study is Zoology and who, in the opinion of the Head of the Department of Biology, has achieved the best performance in the final year of the degree course.
  4. The value of the Prize is £25.
  5. In the event of a candidate of sufficient merit presenting themselves at the final examination, an additional Prize, which takes the form of books, instruments, or materials to the value of £15 may be awarded in any session.
  6. No application is necessary.
  7. The award is announced in July.
  8. Payment is made on or about 15 July.
  9. Awards are subject to the provisions of the General Regulations.
