National Student Survey [http://www.thestudentsurvey.com/]
Final-year*
undergraduate students are encouraged to complete the 2012 National Student
Survey (NSS) which is being run this term.
The NSS is an opportunity to give feedback on all aspects of university life including:
| ¨ teaching | ¨ organisation and management |
| ¨ assessment and feedback | ¨ learning resources |
| ¨ academic support | ¨ personal development |
The survey is commissioned by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and is administered by Ipsos-MORI, an independent research agency. Ipsos-MORI will contact students inviting them to complete the survey on-line. Those students who do not respond will be sent a postal questionnaire and may also be contacted by telephone.
Results of previous surveys can be found on the UCL Academic Support web-site NSS page (documents password protected for UCL students and staff).
Professor Malcolm Grant, UCL President and Provost comments:
“UCL takes its student views very seriously and values the feedback received. As part of this, the National Student Survey (NSS) asks for your opinions on your time at UCL and the resulting data assists prospective students in making their university choices. The NSS results are widely considered within UCL and help us to understand student views and to identify where improvements can be made to provision. For instance, the NSS has recently been used to inform enhancement of the Personal Tutoring system and to introduce UCL-wide service standards on the return of assessed work. I therefore encourage you to participate; it only takes five minutes to complete and provides valuable information to help us improve the quality of the UCL student experience.”
To complete the survey, which should take no more than five minutes, please use the link at the top of this article.
* In some cases, students, particularly on programmes with a 3 or 4 year option, may be surveyed in their penultimate year.
