UCL Clinical Trials Unit

The UCL Clinical Trials Unit was formed in 2010 as a specialist unit at UCL with a specific remit to design, conduct, analyse and publish clinical trials and other well-designed studies. The UCL CTU will fulfill UCL SLMS' and UCL Partners' needs for an academic trials unit to increase trial capacity and quality for researchers at UCL and UCL Partner institutions.

The UCL CTU is part of UCL’s Clinical Trials Collaborative Group along with the Cancer Research UK, UCL Cancer Trials Centre, the MRC Clinical Trials Unit and PRIMENT Clinical Trials Unit.

UCL Clinical Trials Unit provisional registration

We have recently heard that our application to UKCRC for provisional registration was unsuccessful. This is obviously very disappointing as a great deal of work was done in preparation for submission. It is clear from the feedback from UKCRC that we were simply too early in our development. We gave it our best efforts, however for us the call for application was at the wrong time.

Whilst it is disappointing it has made us determined to apply at the next round at which time a much larger portfolio of trials together with our current very experienced clinical trials teams should strengthen our application

In the meantime this should not deter investigators from approaching the UCL CTU in the normal way (collaboration request form .docx) if they have a trial that requires management through a CTU.
