The UCL Centre for Critical Heritage Studies is a cross-faculty research centre, based in the UCL Institute of Archaeology, which is focused on the support and development of critical heritage research and heritage sector engagement at UCL. The UCL Centre for Critical Heritage Studies partners with an equivalent research centre at the University of Gothenburg.

A part-time Research Centre Administrator is sought to be responsible for the administration of the Centre and the joint research programme. The post holder will support the Coordinator of the Centre for Critical Heritage Studies, Michael Rowlands, and will also undertake tasks for other academic staff associated with the Centre.

As well as the responsibility for a range of day to day administrative duties and specific projects, the post holder will proactively develop efficient systems to facilitate the work of the Centre, and will serve as the initial contact for enquiries from UCL staff, and students, relevant heritage sector organisations and the public.

The post is funded until 31 March 2019 in the first instance.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in an academic or research institution and familiarity with or experience of working in or with the heritage and museums sector in London and/or the UK. Candidates will have a good working knowledge of standard computer software and experience of website design and social media as well as experience of print design and preparation of public bulletins and website content. The successful candidate will also have financial administrative experience and good numeric skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
