Legislation at Westminster by Meg Russell and Daniel Gover

Meg Russell’s latest book Legislation at Westminster, co-authored with Daniel Gover, demonstrates that parliament has much greater influence over legislation than is often supposed.

Not only do both chambers force many amendments, they also have various more subtle means to influence what government proposes.

At this event Meg and Daniel will present their findings, with responses from David Natzler, Clerk of the House of Commons, and Baroness (Patricia) Hollis, Labour member of the House of Lords.

Speakers

Meg Russell, Co-author of Legislation at Westminster and Director of the Constitution Unit

Daniel Gover, Co-author of Legislation at Westminster

David Natzler, Clerk of the House of Commons

Baroness (Patricia) Hollis, Labour member of the House of Lords
