Research Fellowships

The University College London, University of Oxford and Microsoft Research Laboratory, Cambridge have recently received funding from the EPSRC Cross-Disciplinary Interfaces Programme (C-DIP) for a programme of research that will involve up to 17 post-doctoral fellowships over the next 5 years.

The programme is focused on fostering the creation of a new generation of future scientific leaders – new kinds of scientists with the ability to lead the way in tackling fundamental challenges in science in areas of societal importance. At the heart of the programme is the development and application of computational methods, scientific computing, scientific software development and software engineering that will underpin the development of a new class of predictive models of multi-scale complex, natural systems.

Applications should be in the form of a letter of application, clearly stating the post title: Research Fellowship in Mathematical / Computational Modelling of Complex Natural Systems. This should set out how the candidate meets the selection criteria, and be supported by a full curriculum vitae, together with the names and addresses of two referees.

In addition, candidates should submit a two page research plan detailing their existing research, the research work they would hope to carry out during their fellowship, making sure to relate this to the aims and goals of the overall research programme. Please note - the programme will be holding a workshop on the 22 June at University College London. Candidates are strongly encouraged to attend this workshop if they are able, or a webcast that will be made available shortly afterwards.

Further details will be posted shortly at http://www.comlab.ox.ac.uk/projects/twenty/
