Dr Nick Jones - Mitochondrial Variability

21st October 2014

4pm, Darwin Room B15, UCL, Gower Street

Dr Nick Jones Seminar

Join us to hear Dr Nick Jones' talk on Mitochondrial Variability.

We typically consider evolution as occurring between successive generations; in this talk Dr Jones will discuss evidence for genetic selection occurring during an individual's lifetime and in an organic-specific fashion. This selection is on mitochondrial DNA species: Dr Jones will connect this bioenergetic variability to other work investigating fluctuations in single-cell fate and to so-called three parent babies.

There will be an opportunity to talk to Dr Jones prior to the event from noon onwards and after the talk all are welcome for a drink at the Jeremy Bentham pub, 31 University Street, WC1E 6JL
