Anne Warner

Research strategy director

Anne Warner is a Professor of Developmental Biology and also holds a post as a Principle Research Fellow in the Research Department of Cell and Developmental Biology. The Founder Director of CoMPLEX, she is now Research Strategy Director.  Her research falls into two major areas:

  • Systems Biology: The analysis of liver function
This major interdisciplinary project involves close collaboration with mathematicians, computer scientists, systems engineers, biochemists and hepatologists to develop models of the liver that can help us to understand the complexities of liver function and liver disease.
  • Cell communication during patterning of the developing nervous system and limb.
We study how cell physiology controls gene expression in the early nervous system (Xenopus) and the developing limb (chick) with a combination of molecular, embryological and physiological techniques.
