His current research interests centre around the subject of self-compacting concrete, with an emphasis on testing procedures, rheology, mix design and, currently, the more extensive use additions, secondary and recycled materials. This grew out of work on high performance concrete, both high strength and high consistence concrete.
He was a member of the European consortium for the Testing-SCC project, whose work from 2001-4 lead to the introduction of new European standards for testing methods (see link above), and was a co-author of a recent major text on SCC (see link above).
Other recent publications include are listed below.
A materials project for first year civil engineering students. Procs of the 2003 WFEO/ASEE Conference, Washington, DC, USA, April
Comparison of concrete rheometers: international tests at LCPC (Nantes, France) in October 2000, NISTIR 6819
Relationship Between the Rheology of Unvibrated Fresh Concrete and Its Flow Under Vibration in a Vertical Pipe Apparatus
Peter Domone is a senior lecturer in concrete technology. He spent seven years as a research engineer at Taylor Woodrow Construction before joining the academic staff at UCL in 1979. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Member of the Institute of Concrete Technology.
