Research Summary
His current research interests centre around the subject of self-compacting concrete, with an emphasis on testing procedures, rheology, mix design and, currently, the more extensive use additions, secondary and recycled materials. This grew out of work on high performance concrete, both high strength and high consistence concrete.
He was a member of the European consortium for the Testing-SCC project, whose work from 2001-4 lead to the introduction of new European standards for testing methods (see link above), and was a co-author of a recent major text on SCC (see link above).
Other recent publications include are listed below.
Exploitation of research into self-compacting concrete
Mortar tests for material selection and mix design of SCC
Comparison of concrete rheometers: International tests at MBT (Cleveland OH, USA) in May 2003
