Clinical Science and Technology

The Centre for Clinical Science and Technology focuses primarily on the biology, diagnosis and treatment of chronic urinary tract infection. Our research encompasses microbiology, molecular cell biology, immunology, high-resolution imaging, clinical research, clinical trials, continence research, and the development of novel therapeutics and diagnostic tools.

We undertake basic, clinical and translation research, often interdisciplinary, which is led and conducted by staff and students including scientists, nurses and physicians. We have strong collaborative links with physicists, nanotechnologists and mechanical engineers, and have a long history of carrying out rigorous clinical research reliably.

Our close affiliation with the Whittington Hospital NHS Trust stimulates and informs our research, and provides access to appropriate populations for clinical studies as well as samples for investigation into the basic science of normal and infected bladder biology.
