Measuring the polar ice
Duncan Wingham, Professor of Climate Physics, head of UCL Earth Sciences and head of the UCL Centre for Polar Observational Modelling, explains his leading role in the European Space Agency’s CryoSat Mission.
CryoSat-2, due to launch in February, will provide conclusive proof as to whether the polar ice sheets are becoming thinner and deepen our understanding of the relationship between ice and climate change.
