The Self-Access Centre - French - Language Software

Here is a list of language software programs available in the Self-Access Centre. Some of the software require a (CD) that is available from the Self-Access Centre Assistant. Please ask!

This program is based on the popular French comic book series of the same name and is a fun, interactive way to learn. It offers you many distinct ways to improve skills. From the main screen, you can choose to listen while the comic is read to you (with accompanying text), get to know the characters by asking them questions, quiz yourself on word recognition, or explore the virtual environment that the story takes place in. 1 Asterix 1 & 2 A2, B1, B2, C1, C2
2 French Encounters
Thousands of essential words divided into topics, including clothes, food and drink, home, leisure, medical, nature, people, travel, places and work. The program offers three levels of interactive quiz to help you memorise new words. And you can record your voice and compare it with the model. 3 Interactive Picture Dictionary A1, A2, B1
This series includes a full length movie which can be watched with or without the script. 4 Movie Talk B2, C1, C2
This program is mainly aimed at improving your listening and speaking skills. There are 10 interactive games to play featuring topics such as food, weather, directions, sentence construction and animals. Once you've built up knowledge with the games, try the TV quiz for a challenge, or the dictation practise to improve listening and writing skills. 5 World Talk A2, B1, B2
