The Self-Access Centre
The Self-Access Centre is available to all UCL students and staff. Many of the multimedia materials are available online. Use the menu above to browse our catalogue. Resources available from your current location will be listed in white text. Grey text indicates materials not currently available at your current location.
The purpose of the Self Access Centre is to enable CLIE students to supplement class-based learning with self study in their own time.Â
In the SAC you can study the language you are learning using a wide range of computer based and paper based activities. There are 30 computer terminals and a well-stocked library of video and audio materials. Satellite and terrestrial TV are also available. Many activities allow you to complete exercises and receive feedback on your performance.  Many of the computer based activities in the SAC can also be accessed from your home via the internet. You can search the SAC database for available materials and a SAC assistant is always available for advice and technical help. Introductions to the SAC facilities can be arranged on request.
