Course Assessment

The course is assessed through a variety of different methods. The Science courses assessment breaks down:

  • 60% Final Exam
  • 20% Laboratory (or coursework in the case of Mathematics)
  • 10% Coursework
  • 10% Tests in terms 1 and 2 (20% in the case of Mathematics)

Science and Society and Academic English modules will include both coursework assessments and tests. Coursework assessments are issued regularly throughout each term.

UCL academics from departments of Science and Engineering liaise closely with the science team and are involved in the assessment process. The UPCSE also has four external examiners who look at the overall quality of student work, and who monitor the standards being achieved on the course. They have stated that coursework was assessed satisfactorily and to a high standard.
