Diploma students in class learning English

UCL's Diploma in English for Academic Purposes is an intensive three-term (32 week) or two-term (20 week) course for international students.

It is a full-time course specifically designed to provide you with the skills needed to succeed at graduate level at a top UK university. The course will:

  • extend and develop your language, study and research skills through engaging with content from your subject areas
  • help you transition from a variety of education backgrounds to graduate programmes available at UCL and elsewhere in the UK
  • satisfy UCL’s English language proficiency requirement and is also accepted by a number of other leading UK institutions as an English language qualification for graduate entry.

The course is taught across the central UCL campus. Students enrolled on the Diploma in English for Academic Purposes are registered as full-time UCL students, with full access to all UCL and University of London academic resources and the many social and sporting facilities of the Student Unions.
