Teaching English for Academic Purposes

The UCL Centre for Languages & International Education (CLIE) offers full- and part-time EAP and foundation courses for international students as well as foreign language courses to UCL students and London’s wider academic and professional community. It also runs a teacher training programme which includes Cambridge ESOL CELTA and Delta courses and courses for teachers of English who do not work in the UK.

The CLIE is now offering a two-week (50 hour) teacher training programme for teachers who want to teach or are already teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP). This course is ideal for teachers who wish to develop their knowledge of the principles that underpin EAP and to develop or further enhance their practical abilities in teaching it.

Entry Guidelines

No previous experience of teaching EAP is necessary for entry to the course. However, candidates will need:

  • A teaching qualification (equivalent to Cambridge Delta, Trinity Dip. TESOL, or a relevant masters degree) OR an initial teaching qualification with substantial teaching experience and in-service development/training;
  • C2 level of competence in English.
Dates

Monday 3 June - Friday 14 June 2013 inclusive.

Fees

The course fee is £900.
