Welcome to UCL! There is a Common Room for postgraduate students in the Department of Greek and Latin.

Arrival at UCL

The academic session starts on Monday 22 September 2014: undergraduate teaching (full term) starts the following Monday.

New PhD students should make an appointment to see Dr Colvin during the week of 22 September (this can be done by email).

Library Tour
Classics librarian Jes Cooban will give a tour of the UCL library and an introduction to library services to new postgraduate students. Times to be confirmed.

UCL Doctoral School Induction for new research students
The Camden Centre (Euston road, opposite Kings Cross/St Pancras stations)

The purpose of this short programme is to let new graduate students know something about the support and facilities offered by the Graduate School, other Departments at UCL and the UCL Union.
The sessions will include a variety of short talks from UCL academic and administrative staff and students:  Head of Graduate School, Dean of Students, a Professor of History (a short history of UCL), senior staff from Information Systems, Library, Careers and a UCL Union Sabbatical Officer.

Introduction to Skills Development and the Research Student Log

The aim of the Induction is to show how the Skills Development Programme and the Research Student Log can be used to enhance the quality of students' research work from the very beginning of their degrees and benefit their future careers. The Induction demonstrates how the web-based Research Student Log and the Skills System function and work together, and how students may record their academic progress and the skills activities in which they have participated.
