Teachers' Colloquium

UCL Department of Greek and Latin / British School at Athens presents a one-day course on Epic in the Ancient World for secondary-school teachers

Department of Greek and Latin, UCL
16 February 2015

The course will provide an opportunity to anyone teaching subjects related to classical Greece (for GCSE, A-level or IB), be it for ancient Greek, Classical Civilisation or Ancient History, to brush up on the latest research on this topic in the fields of literature, history, and archaeology. Experts from University College London and the British School at Athens will offer lectures and seminars on various aspects of fifth-century Athens, including hands-on activities. There will be the chance to speak to university lecturers informally during breaks.

Thanks to the generosity of the A. G. Leventis Foundation attendance is free (including tea, coffee, light sandwich lunch), and the event is open to all teachers at secondary schools, PGCE students, and PhD students interested in a career in secondary-school teaching. Since spaces are limited, registration is required via EventBrite

For general enquiries please contact UCL Greek and Latin; for questions about the content of the event contact the Head of Department.

The venue will be Roberts 309. The street address of the Roberts Building is Torrington Place, London WC1E 7JE.
