Mark Ford
Mark Ford has published widely on writers whose work explores urban themes. He is particularly interested in New York in the post-War era, and the poetry of such as Frank O’Hara and John Ashbery, whose careers began there in the fifties. Other New York-based writers on whom he has published include Paul Auster, Allen Ginsberg, Mina Loy, Walt Whitman and W. H. Auden. His biography of Raymond Roussel (Raymond Roussel and the Republic of Dreams) presented a detailed account of Paris in the Belle Epoque. He is currently at work on a series of poems set in contemporary London.
