Inaugural Lecture
City of Disappearances: Losing Oneself in the Modern and Post-Modern Metropolis
To inaugurate the City Centre, Professor Michael Sheringham,
Marshall Foch Professor of French Literature at Oxford University, and
Fellow of All Souls College, will give a lecture at 5pm on Wednesday 9th June in

Professor Sheringham is the author, among other publications, of Everyday Life: Theories and Practices from Surrealism to the Present (Oxford University Press, 2006 [paperback 2009]), French Autobiography: Devices and desires. Rousseau to Perec (Clarendon Press, 1993), and Beckett: Molloy (Grant and Cutler, 1985).
