CfP: Interdisciplinary Research Projects Scheme for UCL Humanities (AH, SHS & SSEES) departments
The UCL Centre for Humanities Interdisciplinary Research Projects (CHIRP) seeks to stimulate and support research activity that transcends disciplinary and institutional boundaries. To this end, the Centre invites applications from research centres or more informal groupings seeking to establish small interdisciplinary research projects.
CHIRP will sponsor the creation and/or development of two interdisciplinary research projects, with an Early Career Researcher [ECR] attached to each project. Each proposed research project will have clear indications in the application as to how the appointment of an ECR will facilitate the project, and how their area of research might align with the project proposed. Project proposers may choose to name a potential ECR as part of their bid, or elect to appoint one by open competition if their bid is successful.
The bulk of the funding CHIRP will provide to successful applicants will be in the form of the salary costs of an ECR. A small annual amount of up to £1000 will also be available to support associated activity such as workshops, lectures or conferences during the ECR’s tenure. Projects should be planned for a research period of up to 3 years.
