festival will welcome to London some of the most exciting directors
currently working in Chinese-language cinema and art, showcasing
documentary, fiction and experimental video art from Mainland China,
Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and beyond.
Penny Barrett is an independent researcher and specialist translator, with a background in medieval European languages and literatures, as well as Chinese studies. She is a Teaching Fellow of UCL, where she provides the Translation and Direct Reading component of the MA in Chinese Health and Humanity (HISTGC03/4).
A long-term collaborator of Dr Vivienne Lo, Penny has worked on many projects in the cross-cultural history of medicine, food and body culture, and the visual language of Chinese medicine.
