Emetic remedies in Japanese Koiho 古方 medicine

A talk by Professor Tateno Masami, Nihon University, Monday 27 October 2014, 6.30pm, Astor College LG18 (please note changed venue).
Kan, To and Ge (perspiration, emesis, purgation) were the three main therapeutic techniques of the Koiho (Old Medicine) School of the Edo Era. In this talk, Professor Tateno will discuss Toho (emetic remedies), and explore how this technique embodied a distinctive medical philosophy.

Film and the Chinese Medical Humanities

In the context of the UCL initiative for the creation of a Chinese Medical Humanities, UCL’s China Centre for Health and Humanity is running a collaborative workshop with Peking University (PKU) Institute of Medical Humanities and King's College London (KCL) to develop approaches to the use of film in teaching. The workshop is funded by the Wellcome Trust.

There are a limited number of places available at this workshop for UCL staff and graduate students.
