Plants with historical or modern uses as medicines in and around Mecklenburgh Square garden
An online project curated by Prof. Michael Heinrich, Professor of Pharmacognosy (Medicinal Plant research), UCL School of Pharmacy, with monographs specially written by UCL postgraduate students of Pharmacognosy.
The Medical Herb Spiral and Bed on the north-east corner of Mecklenburgh Square garden was set up in 2010 by Dr Vivienne Lo (UCL Centre for Chinese Health and Humanity) with the generous support of the Wellcome Trust Centre for the History of Medicine. It now stands as a memorial to Dr Lo's mother, Ann Lo, who contributed many of the original plants from her garden in Snowdonia.
