Module Profile: Research Methods in Healthcare

This module enables students to critically appraise and use evaluation and research studies in healthcare.
The course provides an overview of the use of evidence in medicine and the relationship between professional practice and research. Its focus is on evaluating the process and outcomes of different healthcare systems.
Students are introduced to a wide range of investigative approaches and appropriate methods of analysis. The module includes an introduction to numeric methods used in healthcare quality evaluation, including understanding different forms of quantitative data and basic descriptive statistics.
