|Waters LCT Premier XE||Installed in 2007, the Waters LCT Premier XE is one of our newest instruments. The bench-top LC-TOF instrument is capable of running low and high resolution analyses in Electrospray (ES) and Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionisation (APCI) modes. Our LCT is also fitted with a Nanospray Non-covalent enhancement option for analysis of proteins.|
|Waters Acquity uPLC SQD||Also installed in 2007, the Waters Acquity uPLC SQD is another of our newer instruments. Fitted with a dual mode probe, the SQD is capable of running Electrospray (ES) and Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionisation (APCI). Running at high flow rates (up to 0.8ml/min) and pressures, the Acquity SQD allows for faster analysis times without loss of resolution or sensitivity. Mass range m/z 100-2000.|
|Waters Maldi microMX||The Waters MALDI-TOF purchased in 2006 is useful in the analyses of larger molecules such as Oligonucleotides, Peptides, Proteins (PMF-software), Polysaccharides, Synthetic polymers.|
|Thermo Finnigan LTQ||Purchased in 2005, the Thermo Finnigan LTQ 2-dimensional Ion-Trap (connected to an Agilent 1100 series HPLC) provides LCMS and MSn analyses in both Electrospray (ES) and Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionisation (APCI) modes. Mass range m/z 50-2000.|
|Thermo Finnigan MAT900xp||The Thermo Finnigan MAT900xp was purchased in 2003, and is used for low and high resolution analysis using Electron Ionisation (EI), Chemical Ionisation (CI), Fast Atom Bombardment (FAB), Electrospray (ES), Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionisation (APCI). Equipped with a SpectraSystem LC. Mass Range 50-3000.|
|Fisons VG70-SE||Dating from the early 1990's the VG70-SE double focussing spectrometer is our oldest instrument in the Department, but extremely reliable. The VG70-SE is capable of performing low and high resolution molecular weight confirmation using Electron Ionisation (EI), Chemical Ionisation (CI) and Fast Atom Bombardment (FAB). Mass Range m/z 50-2500.|
We provide a Mass Spectrometry Service for the Chemistry Department, other UCL Departments and External Organizations. All work is considered*, and prices negotiated on an individual basis (contact John Hill). Copy of mass spec submission form and correct submission procedure available in PDF format.
We also provide a Mass Spectrometry Service for the Chemistry, Geography and Earth Science departments within the Bloomsbury Environmental Isotope Facility.
