Prof Lazaros Papageorgiou received his Diploma in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 1990. He obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College in 1994. After completing his military service as a Research Assistant at the Hellenic Army Research and Technology Centre, Prof Papageorgiou was employed as an adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Production Engineering and Management at the Technical University of Crete during 1996-1997. He has been a Research Associate at the Centre for Process Systems Engineering at Imperial College for the periods of 1994-1995 and 1997-1998.

Prof Papageorgiou is a Professor in Chemical Engineering in the Department of Chemical Engineering at UCL, where he has been since October 1998. He is a European Engineer as well as a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, the Hellenic Operational Research Society, the Institution of Chemical Engineers (Computer-aided Process Engineering Subject Group) and the Centre for Process Systems Engineering at Imperial College and UCL.

Teaching Interests

Prof Papageorgiou's departmental teaching activities are mainly in the areas of optimal design and operation. Below are the modules he is currently involved in teaching. (Note that each link is restricted to access only by students currently registered on the module.)
